Wax Flower & Budwax (Chamelaucium or Geraldton Wax) is a hardy evergreen shrub native to Western Australia, celebrated for its enduring, waxy star-shaped blooms and aromatic, citrus-scented foliage. It features needle-like leaves and numerous small, five-petaled, frilly flowers that range in colour from white to pale pink, hot pink, and purple, though yellow and red hues are typically achieved through dyeing. Budwax refers to the early-stage, un-opened flower buds of the plant, heavily sought after in floristry for their delicate texture and filler qualities. When harvested, Budwax is treated with a post-harvest solution, which prevents unopened buds from dropping and encourages uniform blossoming.
